The Fulbright Commission is proud to announce the list of the 2016-2017 Belgian and Luxembourg Fulbright Grantees who will study, research, or lecture in the United States as well as the U.S. grantees who will study in Belgium and Luxembourg.
During the upcoming academic year, the Belgian and Luxembourg grantees will study and do research in 11 different U.S. states. Among the recipients of a Fulbright scholarship are 10 Belgian students, 4 Luxembourgish students, 1 Belgian journalist and 7 Belgian research scholars. The research scholars and graduate students were selected from the following Belgian institutes of higher education: Universite catholique de Louvain UCL), Ghent University, Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL), and the University of Antwerp. The other home institutions include: Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya, Karlsruher Institut fur Technologie, University of Buckingham, European University Institute and Johns Hopkins University – SAIS Europe.
In addition, two people were selected as Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistants (FLTA): one will teach Dutch, the other French in the U.S. during the 2016-2017 academic year.
We are also pleased to announce that this year 1 Belgian student will attend the U.S. Summer Institute on Social Entrepreneurship.
On the U.S. side, 3 U.S. scholars and 8 students have received Fulbright grants to do research and study in Belgium. Furthermore, 1 U.S. scholar will take up the NATO Chair position and we will welcome 4 English Teaching Assistants to Belgium as well as 4 English Teaching Assistants to Luxembourg.
