This month, the Commission would like to highlight the activities of 2012-2013 Fulbright grantee and Yale Law School alumnus Jurgen Goossens who has been very active this Spring. Mr. Goossens is currently a PhD Candidate in the Public Law Department at Ghent University. In December, he would like to finish the first draft of his PhD on ‘The Future of Administrative Justice. Judicial Review of Administrative Action in Comparative Perspective’, which he would like to defend in May 2016.

In April 2015, he was invited to speak at a conference in King’s College London and in Florida State University (at the annual YCC conference of the American Society of Comparative Law). The following month, he spoke at Cambridge University as well as at Boston College. In June, he spent one month in Paris as a visiting researcher at Sciences Po University, during which he also followed a 2-week internship at the Council of State, the highest administrative court in France.

Moreover, his Belgian Constitutional Law Blog (@BelConLawBlog) is doing pretty well with almost 40.0000 visitors during the first 8 months. He also recently published an article about (the future of) Belgian federalism after the sixth state reform. Finally, he became co-author of the Treatise on Belgian Public Law of Prof. Johan Vande Lanotte.
