The Fulbright Commission in Brussels is proud to announce the 2024-25 Fulbright grantees.

Forty-nine Belgian, Luxembourgish, and European (Fulbright Schuman) grantees have been selected for participation in the 2024-25 Fulbright Foreign Student and Visiting Scholar Programs. These grantees will study, conduct research and/or lecture at academic institutions across the United States during the academic year of 2024-25. Forty-one American students and scholars have been selected to study, teach, and conduct research in Belgium, Luxembourg, and across the Member States of the European Union (Fulbright Schuman) through the Fulbright U.S. Student and Scholar Programs.

Among the recipients of a Fulbright Award to the United States are 13 Belgian students, nine Belgian scholars; three Luxembourgish students; 14 European students, eight European scholars, and two NATO Security Studies Award recipients. An additional 25 Americans have been selected for the Fulbright Program in Belgium, including eight students and student researchers, eight English Teaching Assistants, and nine scholars. Seven Americans have been selected for the Fulbright Program in Luxembourg, including one student researcher, five English Teaching Assistants, and one scholar. Finally, four student researchers and five scholars have been selected to conduct research in Member States of the European Union through the Fulbright Schuman Program.

Fulbright grantees undergo a rigorous selection process, involving a written application and interview by a selection committee, and all selected grantees receive approval of the presidentially-appointed Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Candidates are evaluated on their proposed study or research plans as well as on academic and professional excellence, social engagement, and ambassadorial qualities.
